With over 8 years of experience working with both small and large companies, I have created thousands of digital assets, designed website applications and UI layouts, maintained brand guidelines, coordinated marketing campaigns, managed social media, and copywrote and formatted medical publications.
Types of Work:
TRUiC is a tech and media company providing online tools and guides to help people start their own LLCs. I began as lead graphic designer and advanced to project manager, overseeing all company graphics and large-scale projects—including branding, business cards, UI design (in collaboration with Development and Project Managers), and content creation. I also supported the development of an in-house CMS and contributed to social media and marketing initiatives. Collaborating closely with design, development, corporate teams, freelancers, and affiliates, I managed SEO-optimized web content with strategic affiliate placement to enhance user experience and drive revenue.
After four years and reaching one of the top positions within the company, I chose to broaden my skill set by transitioning into design work for the medical field, seeking new challenges and opportunities for growth.

The Overdose Prevention Engagement Network (OPEN) is a grant-funded team within Michigan Medicine dedicated to combating the opioid epidemic and reducing opioid/Substance Use Disorder (SUD) fatalities. OPEN accomplishes this by educating providers on prescribing Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), collaborating with communities and hospitals across Michigan to reduce post-surgery substance use, organizing Take Back Events (TBE) for safe medication disposal, installing free Naloxone (Narcan) vending machines, partnering with schools to share SUD information, and developing educational resources.
I was part of the OPEN team for two years, contributing to email marketing, graphic design, video creation and editing, social media management, and publication development targeted at healthcare providers. My role concluded when the Michigan Opioid Collaborative (MOC) merged with OPEN, and the combined team already included a communications specialist, leading to an organizational adjustment and my departure.
I designed the intro/outro screens for OPEN's educational videos.
I designed a one-page informational document on Motivational Interviewing targeted at doctors and students. Designed for both print and social media, multiple size variations were created to ensure optimal display across platforms.
I have over 4 years of experience creating content, coordinating marketing campaigns and managing social media across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. My work includes designing visually engaging graphics, developing brand-aligned messaging, and scheduling strategic posts to boost engagement and reach. I've collaborated with marketing teams to execute campaigns, track performance metrics, and adapt strategies based on audience insights—helping brands grow their online presence and connect more meaningfully with their communities.
Overview: At Michigan Medicine’s Overdose Prevention Engagement Network (OPEN), I managed digital content design for both social media and YouTube. I led the branding, editing, and publication of over 40 educational webinars designed to support continuing education for Primary Care Physicians across Michigan. In parallel, I designed and scheduled branded campaigns across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn to support institutional goals and engage diverse audiences.
Problem: OPEN’s original Instagram grid lacked creative direction and was not compliant with WCAG accessibility standards. On YouTube, the channel was underutilized, had minimal branding, and was receiving fewer than 100 impressions per month, limiting its impact as a tool for outreach and education.
Your Role: I was the main designer and strategist for OPEN’s YouTube and Instagram grid. I created the visual identity for both platforms—including branded templates, intro/outro animations, thumbnail designs, and structured metadata. I also edited and uploaded all training videos, developed descriptions and hashtags, and collaborated with the team to repurpose this content into accessible, educational materials for providers and people with substance use disorder (SUD).
Process: For social media, I designed a new accessible, branded template system aligned with Michigan Medicine’s style guide and OPEN's branding. I then coordinated with my fellow communications specialist on copy and scheduling and created custom graphics tailored for each platform’s dimensions and audience.
For YouTube, I standardized video structure and branding, recorded and edited each training for clarity, and created a templated system for thumbnails and descriptions. I tracked analytics to monitor growth and improve performance over time, while ensuring ADA compliance for captions and visual contrast.
Outcome: The redesigned social grid improved brand consistency, accessibility, and engagement, helping OPEN reach a broader audience with its educational content. On YouTube, impressions grew from under 100 to over 1,000 per month organically. The training videos I edited and branded are still in use today as continuing education resources for providers, fulfilling critical CME requirements and expanding OPEN’s reach as a trusted leader in opioid prescribing education.
At OPEN, I independently managed the YouTube channel—from branding and editing to strategy and analytics. I created the visual identity, including intro/outro animations, thumbnail templates, a consistent structure for videos and descriptions, and handled the entire upload process. This project led to increased traffic and engagement. I encouraged the team to repurpose the videos as educational tools for providers and people with substance use disorders — resources that are still in use today.
Overview: At Michigan Medicine’s Overdose Prevention Engagement Network (OPEN), I led the visual design of internal and external email communications as well as PowerPoint presentations. My work supported institutional messaging, provider education, and cross-departmental outreach by ensuring each visual asset was clear, accessible, and brand-aligned.
Problem: Emails and presentation materials lacked visual consistency, accessibility, and professional polish. Emails were not always optimized for readability or mobile use, and PowerPoints relied heavily on dense content without a visual hierarchy—resulting in lower engagement and difficulty communicating complex information effectively.
Your Role: I was the communications specialist on these initiatives, collaborating cross-functionally with clinicians and program managers. I used Asana to manage timelines and workflow across multiple departments and Constant Contact to format, design, and schedule email communications. For presentations, I developed templates and visual frameworks that adhered to Michigan Medicine’s branding standards.
Process: For emails, I designed branded templates, wrote and edited copy, formatted announcements, newsletters, and event outreach materials using Constant Contact, Canva and Adobe Illustrator. I emphasized clean layouts, accessible formatting, and responsive design.
For presentations, I built and redesigned PowerPoint decks with clear visual flow, high legibility, and branded iconography, supporting internal and clinical presentations. My design process focused on translating dense information into clear, compelling slides that enhanced speaker confidence and audience comprehension.
Outcome: My visual updates led to improved internal engagement and streamlined workflows for both email campaigns and provider education. Email readability and click-through rates improved thanks to optimized formatting in Constant Contact.
The PowerPoint templates I created are still used across teams, providing a consistent and accessible framework for continuing medical education and outreach. Through Asana, I maintained alignment across stakeholders and ensured timely, high-quality deliverables.
Overview: As the lead designer and coordinator for TRUiC’s social media and YouTube branding efforts, I developed and executed cohesive visual campaigns across multiple platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. My role combined design, strategy, and content planning to align brand messaging with broader marketing objectives, increase engagement, and create a more unified and professional digital presence.
Problem: When I joined the TRUiC team, the company’s social media and YouTube presence lacked visual consistency, strategic scheduling, and cohesive branding. The social media grid was visually disjointed, with inconsistent use of brand colors, typography, and voice. Meanwhile, the YouTube channel had no clear thumbnail strategy or visual identity, which impacted click-through rates and audience recognition.
Your Role:
Process:
Outcome: My work led to measurable improvements across TRUiC’s digital platforms, including increased follower growth and engagement on Instagram, as well as improved click-through rates on YouTube due to the introduction of a cohesive thumbnail system. The updated branding contributed to a more polished, professional presence that supported broader marketing goals like brand recognition, lead generation, and audience retention. Many of the foundational design elements I created—such as the profile logo and thumbnail layout—remained in use even after a visual refresh, demonstrating the lasting impact of my contributions.
TRUiC has evolved significantly since I left three years ago, but this video thumbnail is one I remember contributing to alongside the video team. I also helped establish the branding for the YouTube channel—while the design has since changed, the current profile logo and overall thumbnail layout are rooted in the visual framework I developed during my time there.
At Michigan Medicine, I played a key role in the design and communication strategy for several of OPEN's products. I collaborated closely with project coordinators to translate complex clinical needs into clear, user-centered design solutions that improved comprehension and usability. My responsibilities included creating visual assets, refining designs, and helping craft messaging that aligned with internal branding and communication goals. The projects emphasized the importance of clarity and consistency in design, ultimately supporting more effective communication between departments and enhancing the digital experience for healthcare professionals and patients.
